About

The DFA Design for Asia Awards is the flagship programme of Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), celebrating design excellence and acknowledging outstanding designs with Asian perspectives. Since its launch in 2003, the DFA Design for Asia Awards has been a stage upon which design talents and corporations can showcase their design projects internationally.

All the entries are recruited either by open submission or nomination. Entrants may submit their design projects in one of the 30 design categories under the six key design disciplines, namely Communication Design, Digital & Motion Design, Fashion & Accessory Design, Product & Industrial Design, Service & Experience Design, and Spatial Design.

Entries will be accessed according to the overall excellence and factors such as creativity & human centric innovation, usability, aesthetic, sustainability, impact in Asia, as well as commercial & societal success in two rounds of judging. The judges are design professionals and experts attuned to the design developments in Asia and with experience in different international design awards. Entries for Silver Award, Bronze Award, or Merit Award will be selected according to their design excellence at the first round of judging, while the Grand Award or Gold Award will be conferred to the finalists after the final round of judging.
